In May 2023, host and spoken word poet Dai Woolridge piloted a new concept called 'the Bless Offs' at the Big Church Festival, Spoken Word Stage (spoonsored by Bible Society). It was a raving success and the feature came back stronger in 2024, with wide acclaim from poets, rappers and audience members alike.

The concept was inspired by entertaining formats such as Comedy Roasts and Rap battles, but with an uplifting twist. Instead of 'put downs', the Bless Offs model encourages Spoken Word Poets to 'build up' and 'out encourage' each other. It featured 2 hosts, 2 expert judges, an international DJ, 8 spoken word Poets and a packed out audience.'
